  • What types of therapy do you offer?

    At Lake Shore Therapy Group, we provide individual, couples, and family therapy for children, teens, and adults. Our team of therapists has expertise in anxiety, depression, life transitions, perinatal mental health, eating disorders, sports performance, and more. We offer both in-person sessions at our Northfield and Downtown Chicago offices, as well as virtual therapy across Illinois. Learn more about our services here.

  • What if I'm not sure which therapist is right for me?

    We know how important it is to find a therapist who feels like the right fit. When you reach out, our intake coordinator will ask a few questions about your goals and preferences to help match you with a therapist whose expertise aligns with your needs.

  • How do I get started as a new client?

    Getting started is simple. You can call or text us at 815-496-0620 or fill out our online contact form. Our intake coordinator will help match you with the therapist who best fits your needs and preferences. We’ll also answer any questions you have about insurance, scheduling, or getting set up for your first appointment.

  • How much does therapy cost? Do you accept insurance?

    We can provide you with detailed information about our fees during an initial consultation. We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, United, and Aetna plans. If we’re not in-network with your plan, we can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Our current out of pocket price is $175.

  • How do I prepare for a therapy session?

    Your first session is a chance to get to know your therapist and share what brings you to therapy. Together, you’ll explore your goals and begin creating a plan for your care. Sessions are typically 50 minutes and designed to help you feel supported and heard from the start.

  • What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?

    We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled. We kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid any cancellation fees.

  • Do you offer online therapy?

    Yes! We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Illinois. Virtual therapy works well for individuals and couples who prefer the convenience of meeting from home or have busy schedules. Many insurance plans cover telehealth—our team can help you confirm your benefits.

  • Where are you located?

    We have two locations:
    📍 Northfield Office – 540 W Frontage Rd, Suite 2235, Northfield, IL 60093
    📍 Downtown Chicago Office – 307 N Michigan Ave, Suite 412, Chicago, IL 60601
    Both offices are warm, welcoming spaces designed to help you feel comfortable. Free parking is available at our Northfield location.

  • Do you see children and teens?

    Yes, we have therapists who specialize in working with children and adolescents. We provide support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, school challenges, trauma, and more. Our child therapists also work closely with parents and caregivers to support the whole family’s wellbeing.

  • Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

    Yes! We know life can be busy, so we offer flexible scheduling, including evening and some weekend appointments. Availability varies by therapist—our intake coordinator can help you find a time that works best.
